On my other pack, it has the old quick release buckle that is just the green interlocking tab like I see on a lot of packs. In building another pack, I’ve found that the straps that came with my ALICE frame (and the only ones I’ve been able to find so far) have an oversized black buckle (similar to the new pistol belts) and large black slides on the sides to adjust the size.
I’ve tried talking with the various stores in the area, and I’ve had no luck in finding the straps like my previous ones. I’ve even been told “they don’t make those anymore… what you have is all that is made.”
So I thought I’d check here to see what I could find out about possibly finding the right pad.

Except the kidney pads that came with my frames have a ■■■■■■■■ them the size of a 3 hole pistol belt.
As for what I’m looking for, I just want something either reasonably accurate or similar to the first link. My question on the link to the ones similar to the movie is if they come with a kidney pad? The way they look on the site, they don’t, and I’m not sure that I can detach the current straps I have/ attach new straps to the pads I have.
ok, the waist strap with the green clip like you had is accurate to GB2
the large black QR clips are not accurate but are what the military currently uses so it is extremely common.
eBay is the best place to get straps like that. do a search for “alice pack kidney pad” and just go down the list until you see one that matches what you want. they are on there, just gotta search. when you do find one, make sure to email the seller and ask if thats the style you will get, a lot of alice pack sales on ebay use a stock pic.
