Not too much to do on the figure itself (altho I wish they wouldn’t have sculpted in the pocket protector, ugh) but the ghost sniffer I went ahead and tweaked a bit.
I wanted to play around with what worked so when I get ready to do Peter’s Ghost Sniffer I can have a better idea of what to do. the yellow tubing needs to be a thinner guage (all I could find at the moment) and the black tubing for the ‘stick’ I’d like to rework for Venkman. *Thanks again for everyone that posted pics of the Ghost Sniffer’s labels, was a BIG help!
I noticed the minimates version of Labcoat Ray had him with his khaki pants on, but I couldn’t find any other source that could confirm that was true, so I left his pants the dark brown Mattel painted them.
Superb! The work shows. I’m assuming you used a microdrill to excavate material from the Sniffer and squeeze bulb to fit the new hoses. Is the base of the “wand” original, or also one you put together?
The stickers, paint and additions really make the Sniffer “pop”. Is it a scaled down digital file?
For the yellow tubing maybe just use a cut of yellow wire the right length? It would still be bendy, but would also hold whatever shape you chose for it.

I’m not sure what a micro drill is exactly, but what I used what a couple small drill bits with a power drill (lol not the best method, will be looking into picking up captcyan’s spiral drill method next time haha) and thankfully didn’t butcher the little unit too bad, lol. The silver base of the wand is still original, I would have liked to make something smaller to be more accurate, but I didn’t think the hand would be able to hold it well enough~~
The tubing is actually tubing my wife found at Hobby Lobby that’s used for necklace and bead making. I was looking all over trying to find ‘small scale “flexible”’ tubing and my wife thankfully found this stuff. There was also a coiled black tube that I think will work perfectly for Venkman’s. I had to spray paint the black tube (it was clear) so that’s why it’s cracking a bit. The coiled tubing comes in black so I shouldn’t have that problem next time:)
This time I printed out the labels, I figured since the label was going to be large enough, most of the detail would come through. I don’t know why but I gave up this time trying to do the smaller Bacharach label and just painted it in since the label was just NOT cooperating with me. I think it works, lol.
The yellow wire isn’t a bad idea actually, I’ll be looking into more options this time around and I’m hoping it’ll be easier since Venkman uses the unit off his shoulder, as opposed to off his chest.

Very useful for small scale projects like the Mattel Sniffer, my brother was actually supplied with one in the ERTL AMT Star Destroyer kit he bought years ago to drill the holes for the lights.
Man, that micro drill looks really nice! The website I was able to find it on listed it at roughly $700 or so. . .I wonder if it’d be possible to outfit my dremel with some smaller drill bits. . .
