LC-2 Alice frame mods for the Haslab Spengler pack?

Has anyone started working on a non-destructive mod to use a LC-2 Alice frame with the Haslab pack without having to do any damage to the frame or the pack? Since they are using metal brackets to attach the frame, I would think it would be possible to make a replacement bracket that can accommodate the horizontal bar on the LC-2 frame.

IMHO, it wouldn’t be worth the hassle modding / hacking up an LC-2 frame, so it’s best to try and find an LC-1.

Amazon and Fox Outdoors are your best bet, b/c most other online shops are either out of stock, or overpriced.

I bought my LC-1 Rothco frame last year for $55 on amazon - which is the same frame on the Afterlife packs.

I don’t think you’d need to hack up an LC-2 frame. You’d just need special brackets.

My HasLabs pack came today and I was able to mount it to my vintage LC-2 frame without any modifications.

Note it’s not a perfect fit (the brackets are a hair smaller than they should be to fit over the frame, so it’s TIGHT and needs some force to shove them onto the bracket, but it mostly works) … and a couple of the brackets don’t actually fit at all. But I feel reasonably confident that the brackets that do fit are adequate.

I got the two bottom standoffs no problem, and the top center bar (on the vertical bar). My frame’s horizontal bar appears to be slightly skewed, though, so I only got one of the horizontal brackets on (the holes don’t align well enough on the other side). Then I added the middle vertical bar mount. I didn’t try to do the bottom vertical one. 5 of 7 attachment points seems pretty reasonable, though, not that it was super easy.

Misaligned on one side (probably a slightly skewed frame crossbar):

But it feels nice and sturdy… I’m pleased, enough.
