in gb 1 you can see the guys wear a bright yellow box that says life guard. I have notice that several fans have them from their pictures on this site. can anyone recommend where to get one?
its called a Lifegard PASS device(yes its spelled “gard”, not “guard”) and they are worn exclusively in GB2, not GB1.
you can get them on ebay or if youre lucky, from your local fire department when/if theyre upgrading and looking to get rid of their old ones.
Althought the Lifegards used in GB2 were the Mk. II models, you can also use the near-identical Mk. IV or V ones as well.

I’ve done extensive searching on the internet and by calling dozens of local and out of state fire departments, and they are incredibly hard to find lately. 3 Firehouses had auctioned or thrown away dozens and dozens of them in the last 6 months.
One had thrown them all away when their Firehouse flooded from the Hurrican Rita storm surge.
PASS Devices are now integrated into a Firefighter’s suit, so the Lifegards are considered very obselete and passe’ by most firehouses.
Some are still using newer versions of the clip-on PASS like the SuperPASS (black and Yellow but very different form Lifegard) or the red Gracie PASS that looks like a small red speaker box.
I finally gave up and decided to wait until Multimediamayhem did a resin cast when a friend from the Houston Area Ghostbusters said he had a Lifegard IV. It arrived just 2 days ago and I <3 it. It’ll go with me in our Christmas Parade where I debut my “Briefcase Ecto” this Saturday.

Ebay member, rafron56. Is selling some lifegard II on ebay. Just won mine today…don’t asked how much I spent for one :/…but it was worth it! Can’t wait to add this on the Uniform!

I may get beaten to a ■■■■■■ pulp for asking this; but does it really matter if a lifegard unit isn’t working? You just want it to hang from your belt, right?

my buddy is getting me two PASS alarms from his firehouse that were made in 2002, they were boxed and forgotten about when they got a 2005 upgrade…they arent lifegards, but ill post a few pics here and info about htem when i get them just in case some of you wou;ld be interested in a newer version of a PASS alarm for your uniform.
Its not even going to look remotely the same.
Actually, it might not even clip onto your belt, unless it is a firefly or of the such.
Basically, you might as well go without it.
well i am getting htem for free so it wont hurt me either way, if anything i gut it an attach it, besides its nice to add newer things to uniform, via the video game…
