So my two sound boards arrived yesterday. I’ve been working on installing them into my packs. However, I’ve run into some issues in trying to integrate my Jupiter wand lights into the board. The instructions for the “pack blaster” state that only one wire for the firing switch needs to be connected to the board, but the Jupiter switch has two wires connected to its board. Which wire do I use? And how do does that work when the other wire would then not be connected to anything?
If you have the GBFans Sound board supplying power to your other board it is assumed you have shared grounds. All grounds would be connected. It is assumed that your light kit has a ground, and grounds out when the switch is activated. If that’s the case, all you need to wire is one wire for each shared trigger.
If you want to be thourough though. Just duplicate both wires on the GBFans Sound board.
Share the first wire on the switch and the 2nd wire (after the switch) with the sound board.
What AJ means is if you have switches already connected to a light kit, one of those wires goes to ground, and the other goes to a control pin that checks to see if the switch is closed. (And thus making a connection to ground.)
The sound kit also needs to check to see if the switch is closed. And assuming you use the same battery for both, the ground for either it will be the same, and you only need the one ground wire on the switch. But you will need another wire connected to the same side as the signal pin the light kit is looking at.
If the two wires are red and black then you should probably connect the sound it to the pin with the red wire. If the two wires are the same color, then with the sound kit on and the switch off, touch the sound it wire to each pin of the switch. Whichever one triggers the sound is the ground. So connect the wire to the other pin.
Thanks for the help guys. Think I got it working now.
this is somethig i have been wondering about as well…so if i understand the answer right, basically you just splice into the switched on power from the switch and run that wire to the sound board?
