Looking for a Frame for a Poster

Hi,

Ive bought an original Ghostbusters Movie poster and i cant find a frame to fit it. The Poster measures 41" x 27" the biggest ive seen is 40" x 21" in Wilkinsons. I can have one made at a cost of £75.00 but seeing as i only paid £10.00 for the poster (Fantastic Condition as well) i cant bring myself to spend that much and cant bear the thought of Blu tacking it to the wall.

Any info would be great!

Thanks

Alexei

you could always make one out of wood,

thin sheet of mdf board, and a frame made out of routed beading (shop bought or if ya got skill also do it yourself ), looks good, i make them al the time, as i do odd job carpentry,

Carl.

Charity shops are also a good source for cheap frames, but it’ll be less likely that they’ll carry a frame big enough for the large posters.

It’s not impossible, as I got a large print of a stylised Titanic painting with frame, but it’s not common either.

Hey, thanks guys i will def keep my eyes open in Charity shops! not sure i got the skills to make a frame but may have to give it a go!

Thanks again!

Alexei

The simple truth is you will have to fork over at least 30 bucks for a frame to fit a theater poster. I finally found one at wal-mart for my GB2 theater poster and it still wasn’t exactly cheap.

To be honest, you’ve got an original Ghostbusters poster, I think it deserves a quality frame, not one that “will do”. I’d bite the bullet and have it professionally done.

An original Ghostbusters Poster could cost you about £100 depending on condition, so I would take what you’ve managed to save and put it toward a custom frame.

BTW if you stick it to your wall with Blu-tack I might have to hunt you down and lay a serious beating on you! LOL

Crikey! didnt think i would get threatened! Lol! yeah id hate to use blu tack to stick it on the wall! am probably going to get the frame made just have a tight couple of months then ill have to bite the bullet! i couldnt believe i got an original poster for £10! Absolute Bargain!

Alexei

ya know i could make you a frame, send me a pic of the style you would like, and il see what i can do,

and the exact measurements of the poster

Well i finally did it! ive paid £84.00 for a frame for my Ghostbusters poster that cost me £10.00 on ebay! Its gonna look sweet! my wallets a bit lighter though!

Alexei
