Hello. I am finally able to purchase my proton pack after many years of waiting and saving and lusting after it
the one that I have found has these specs. In my fellow busters opinion, is it a good piece? It’s a BIG purchase for me and a one time deal so I want to make sure I’m getting a good piece. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!
Has swiveling front handle. The pack is made primarily from light MDF wood, with resin parts, PVC, aluminum, and plastic, as well. It weighs approximately 21 lbs. It also includes many real items used in the movie packs, such as:
In addition to lights in both the wand and the pack, it also has a sound kit with two speakers.
“Activate” switch moved in the upward position plays start up sound
“Intensify” button, when pressed, plays a firing sound on a loop
Moving “Activate” to the downward position plays the shut down sound
The lower right switch on the wand toggles the sound on/off
The pack also has an extra “venting” sound switch located on the back of the motherboard. You can reach it with your off hand and click it to “vent” the pack when it overheats.
Looks OK but I wouldn’t drop $1200 on it in my opinion. Drop EJ Gunth a PM. He is doing commission builds using varied shells and parts. I think you’d be better going down that route if you don’t want to build your own
Eric makes amazing parts, I used most of his stuff for my Hero pack I am finishing up. Nick (nick-a-tron) also makes a GREAT full kit you can build. Its more DIY with building it, but its an awesome kit to look at.
Unfortunately, I do not have the time nor the expertise to try to build one and I am confident I would make mistakes which would then be very costly to correct. That’s why I have to buy one completed.
