MAD magazine has released, “MAD Spoofs Movie Classics” and the cover is Ghostbusters. It’s been out for a few weeks now. The only problem is that I can’t find it anywhere. I’ve checked Barnes and Noble, Amazon, MAD’s online store, everywhere. It’s like it doesn’t even exist for sale.
Has anybody else had any luck locating it?
I had a subscription to Mad back in the day and kept most of the issues in storage, I still have the original GB2 issue with the logo cover…I may have to pick the collection up just to have it.
I read on Facebook a ghosthead picked up a copy at Walgreens. If you live by one, couldn’t hurt to check. Walgreens isn’t my preferred pharmacy store, I hadn’t thought to check there. I’ve had to wait because of northeast weather.

I was finally able to get to my nearest Walgreens. I can personally confirm Walgreens does carry this Ghostbusters related collectible magazine. They had two copies left. Not sure if its been a popular item or they may need to order more. This Walgreens is part of a shopping center with a movie theater, etc. I’m not sure.
I can also confirm that I haven’t seen it at Rite-Aid. Your nearest Rite-Aid may be different.
I have seen it at my Target as well as my Publix…they had a ton of them.
That’s also good to know. I haven’t really been out for fun lately. I hadn’t been to the part of this area that has shopping centers, a mall, and other stores which would include our nearest Target.
We don’t have Publix here. I haven’t seen the collectors issue of MAD at one of our northeast grocery chains. Definitely good to know there are options.
Found it! I ended up going to CVS (basically a Walgreens) and they had a few copies!
Are the parodies new, or simply reprints of the ones that MAD published when the movies were out?

I picked it up a week ago. Doing a comparison, the grossbusters title page is the same, BUT the story parodies part two. So I guess the story is new.
Love the cover art though.
Oh, just looked at the pics again. I guess it is the same story. Well then… I guess its good for those who havnt read the original
bunches at Publix, it contains both part 1 and part 2 parodies. Also, there is a slimer cameo in the Sixth Sense parody.
My wife just bought me a copy of this from the grocery store.
Found mine at Walmart.
my local Hannafords grocery store had like 2 dozen of these for sale this morning, I almost bought one.
I found it at Wal-Mart, but put it back when I saw the price. I own the original issues with the GB content, so I couldn’t justify paying $13 for a new cover.
