Mattel Ghost Trap HELP!

So, my Mattel Ghost Trap has stopped working. I’ve changed the batteries and it still won’t turn on. Anyone have this happen to them? Any idea what to do? Someone please help.

Okay, this should fix it. First, make sure the cartridge is seated all the way in correctly. After you’ve done that, on the front of the cartridge, you’ll see 4 knobs. On the left square one, make sure it’s pointed to TR and not ATF. If that doesn’t work, it’s possible the inner switch popped out of place which will require you to open that sucker up and THAT is rat’s nest of wires in there, so good luck!

Thanks for the help. I’m gonna try this today. It was working fine just a few weeks ago and has only been sitting on a shelf since then, so I don’t know what would’ve happened. Maybe that switch is out of place! Fingers crossed!

YOU’RE MY HERO! THAT WAS IT! MY GHOST TRAP LIVES!

The toggle switch or the power switch?

The “TR vs. ATF” thing… why is that even a thing?! lol

It’s some kind of mode toggle that I don’t think works how it was intended. I recommend just gluing it on place with a drop or two of crazy glue.

Is that the one that operates the trap without sounds?

That’s what it’s SUPPOSED to do. Just tried it out and yeah… NOTHING works when you have it toggled to that. So, maybe it’s some wiring issue? either way, NOT a huge loss.
