Matty Ecto goggles differences

I have been looking at the pics on Matty’s website and I have realized that there are some small but noticeable differences. One, no red light. Two, the operation instruction sticker is more original then the one used on film. It actually says things like “Ecto-Lens Assembly” and dose not mention anything about NVG (night vision goggles). :?:

Actually, it’s not so “original”, the labels included in the Goggles are actually labels that Kingpin drew up a few years ago if I remember correctly.

Other differences incllude no rivets for the harness, the harness seems to be more resembling the actual PVS headstrap rather than the screen accurate headstrap and the side discs are grey rather than black…They also appear to be slightly smaller, and I’m sure we’ll find more problems when they arrive in hand.

Here’s a bit of a breakdown as to the differences between the Mattycollector Ecto Goggles and the original sceen-used props:

The harness is attached with a pair of plastic tabs moulded into the frame rather than using “snaps” on the frame.

The completely black lense is about half as tall as it should be compared to the black/silver lense.

The thumb screws are far too big and long.

The raised block near the front of the black/silver lense should be closer to the edge, larger and with sloped sides.

The side discs and battery cover are medium grey, when they should in fact be black.

The rivets on the frame should be closer to black than dark grey.

The snaps on the NVG frame should be a darker grey/closer to black.

Some concessions are obviously down to the production methods:

Obvious separation lines throughout the Goggles.

The lack of an inner display (something that was considered by the production team, but ultimately dropped).

I think the harness could’ve been more accurate, if safety was a concern it could’ve been screwed to the Goggles, rather than using those rather ugly tabs.

The tabs and the thumb screws are what I don’t like I wish they had a better idea for the head strap and i wish they stuck to the idea of the inside display
