ok here me out. the are still wands, meters and goggles available not even listed as almost gone yet in the shop. alot of consumers were complaining about the traps not functioning properly when they got them in the mail. Mattel themselves mentioned having to hold xtra traps aside to facilitate returns. so it’s likely there retooling the manufacture of the traps for another run. it’s the only logical explanation. so i’d advise the compulsive not to buy the scalper traps. just be patient.

I’m not following. Your saying that since Mattell held on to some traps to exchange for returns, that means they are going to re-release the trap?
Mattel is way past the point of holding backstock for return items.
You know that Big Lots dump from last fall and this winter? That was their remaining backstock. That room is clean, now.
The trap won’t be back because Mattycollector is a oddly run sort of crowd-funded corner of Mattel. It’s a small design room that has to do a lot of work to get funding for their projects. At this time, Matty seems to be losing funding on all of their projects. Even MOTU is going away this year, due to poor sales.
As has been mentioned often in the past, Mattel has stated that they will likely only re-release the trap if there was a third movie.
