Whats good to use for the metal bands of the gun tip emmitter.. yknow the metal that the curved piece fits on .. there are 2..of coarse I assume its depends on what size your wand tip is..
I suppose you could use a section of an aluminum or chrome pipe of some kind, or you could paint a section of PVC with a metallic paint. Venkman71’s plans suggest getting a polished aluminum collar at a steel surplus store (matching the inner diamater as closely as possible to the clear tube), at least for the one that connects to the “pistol trigger” piece. For the one connected to the handle, he suggests either using an aluminum pipe for the whole handle and simply painting all but that section black, or, if you’re using PVC for the handle, painting that section metallic. Of course, that’s only if you want that metallic part to match the diamater of the handle. Some plans have it slightly smaller (ie, Stefans), in which case, I would suggest simply using the same kind of thing you use for the other metal piece).
I used thin clear plastic sheet, coiled it up tight and used a heat gun to get it to hold its circular shape. After that i painted it silver and slapped it on!

Looks good. Resin cast, you say? Are you following Venkman 71’s plans? I plan on teaching myself how to cast molds in the near future so I can mold & cast (and likely sell) gun bodies myself. I’ll be incorporating some of Venkman 71’s ideas, but I’ll be coming up with my own measurements, sort of. The measuremets will be based off Stefan’s plans, tweaked and scaled to match parts I have (ie, my resin-cast parts I got from propfan).
Well, I figured out how to make the two piece mold myself (for hollowcasting the gunbody). I followed venkman’s plans for construction ideas but used stefan’s for measurements ( i resized the fullsize drawing as it was just a tad bit small). I’m very happy with the results. Two piece molding ain’t that hard actually.
