I was watching Ghostbusters 2 a few months ago, and I still love the “River of slime” scenes, and I was wondering if the yellow construction helmet would make a good addition to my gear.
But I felt like the 1989 design would be a bit outdated.
Then my weird brain made a connection, at the fire station where I work we just got new rescue helmets that we use for confined space rescue, collapses and such, and the old ones were tossed into a box somewhere in a dusty corner, waiting to get disposed of.
So I asked my Chief if I could have one, and he gave the thumbs up.
Now I gave it new reflective stickers, my old safety goggles and a cheap LED flashlight I had laying around somewhere, and voila, a modern style helmet for entering those old falling down haunted houses or sewer systems filled with slime 
.
Added the Mooglies for recognition, and its good to go.
Maybe in the future I’ll swap the safety goggles for a toned down version ecto-goggles.
