Modifying a Kenner trap. Help would be most appreciated

Hello everyone! Long time lurker and first time poster

I recently purchased a Kenner trap off eBay that was in pretty solid condition. However it was missing the hose and stomp pedal, which was fine with me since I had plans to replace them anyway, and it was cheaper than most on eBay.

However I’ve already hit a roadblock

I THOUGHT the hose and pedal were just missing, but now I see that it’s actually been snipped off

Through cupping my hands and blowing I see that the mechanisim to open the doors still work. How would I go about removing that last bit of yellow hose without ruining the pump that opens the door, and what size hose would I need to replace it?

I also hate to double-post, but I’m also wondering how I go about removing the doors. I already disassembled the trap but I don’t know how to remove the door without breaking the plastic

I have replaced hoses on 3 of these my kids traps. You need to take a box cutter and cut down the hose were it attaches to the mechanism. Do not use a lot of force, because you could snap off the connector. After that just slowly peel off the hose.

The doors are tricky. You have to bend them a little. Just be careful, they will snap. I had a trap that was very sun damaged I got off eBay and the door crack as soon as I tried to bend it just a little. I do not know of anyone making resin replacement doors. If I knew how I would. This would be a great item to print on a 3d printer.

Are you replacing the hose with yellow again? I have some extra pm and we can talk about it.
