So apparently postage to Europe for the Louis and Grundel set is $92. Making it more expensive than the Citizen Ghost set. Plus you still have the risk of a £60 customs fee.
I was expecting postage to be the same ballpark as earlier figures. Cannot justify $90. Some people have contacted Mondo over it. Hopefully there’s a reduced option otherwise I think I’m out.

The jump is insane. Egon/Boogieman and Ray/Ghash were $34.38 for their shipping, and Peter/Samhain and Winston/Sandman were $46.91… Practically triple the cost of the shipping for Egon and Ray’s sets, and double for Peter and Winston’s, while not providing any major additional contents that would likely increase the overall weight.
I wonder if this might be part of (or the whole) reason for the sudden shipping cost price-hike:

ya.. my Citizen Ghost set came from the US, so I had to pay high customs fee. And now $92 is a shame… I’m wondering if the shipment will be from the US..
I fear this could actually kill the line.
And I fear they know this.
The Ecto is going to be crazy expensive.
Are these price hikes just changes with customs or do they have something to do with the President Predator’s tariff nonsense? $92 is INSANE!
The orange buffoon certainly can’t be ruled out as either a main cause or a contributory one…
Unfortunately, barring what Mondo might say, I don’t know if we’ll get an official explanation.
I had a look at the shipping for the Citizen Ghost set, that came in at $55.00.
So from October 29, 2024 the shipping for the line started at $46.91 (Peter/Samhain), it dipped down to $34.38 around February 13, 2025 (Egon/Boogieman), it rose back to $46.91 around June 17, 2025 (Winston/Sandman), it dropped back to $34.38 around September 30, 2025 (Ray/Ghash), it rose to $54.72 around February 24, 2026 (Janine, who I anticipate will get a Firehouse-style box), it rose further to $55.00 around July 22, 2026 (Citizen Ghost), and then it substantially jumped to around $92 in time for September 1st, 2026.
So to (hopefully accurately) summarise: from October 2024 - September 30 2025, the cost of shipping wavered between $35 and $47, it rose to just less than $55 in February 2026, it rose further to $55 exactly in July 2026, and then jumpted to around $92 in September.
(I wish I could plot a graph based on this data to make it easier to visualise).
The DHL changes doesb’y fully mesh with the shipping price hike, as I would’ve thought the Citizen Ghost set would’ve seen the increased shipping cost as it went on sale in late July… But so far either it or tariffs may be the likely explanation. 
It could also just be a stealth price hike with some of the money going to Mondo themselves. Because they’re anticipating lower sales for Louis.
Seems to be less traffic in this thread about this figure even compared to Citizen Ghost. I do think jumping to Louis and a season 3 ghost was a surprising choice. Much like going with Follow That Hearse for the Ecto… The S1 & 2 ghosts and variants of the guys will be way more popular.
For UK/Europe folks - are you still buying despite the possible £280 total cost (if there are customs fees?).
My choices for how the line could continue (if it does beyond Peoplebusters):
Suited Janine with Wot & Patience
Winston Casual with Umpire and baseball ghost
Egon Casual with Rampage Egon, Containment Suit and bus driver ghost or eyeball knock knock ghost.
Peter Casual with Bridge Troll set
Ray Casual with Ghost R Us and keystone ghost.
Janine Casual with Deadly Trio and imps
These would all make great sets in line with the first four imo.
I think with me, im going to get the Ecto and call it a day, maybe a Giant Mr Stay Puff if they put one out. I want Louis, but I dont needed him, same as I diden’t need the Citizen Ghosts. Like, I always was happy if I could just re create the opening credits with the figures. Im actually shocked we are getting as many figures as we are. But yeah, the Ecto 1 is a must, a Stay Puff is a must, but Janine, Louis, Citizen Ghosts, people busters, variations, I’ve decided im good. I got the 4 guys, the ghost that came with them. Im very happy with what I have.
I probably will still buy the set, though I’m not jumping into it like I have with the other figures due to the shipping charges. 
I’m skipping this one. Not interested enough in the character to swallow the total cost, unfortunately.
Yeah, I was already stretching to pay £180 for it. The prospect of a further £100 of shipping & customs charge on top is kind of a dealbreaker knowing the Ecto preorders are launching November time and Peoplebusters in 2027.
Not in the UK, but I’m passing on Louis & Grundel as well. I’m not beholden to the RGB Louis and my main goal was to get the 4 GBs and Janine. I still have to get Egon and Ray. Maybe if the Grundel was a solo release I might have been more tempted to snag it. I will likely pass on the Ecto-1 as well. I already got Ectos and I don’t need to have a Mondo one to display my Mondo GBs in (I like displaying them standing around anyway) and I have too many Ectos as it is and limited display space. From here on out, I’m being very selective of who I get based on my favorites. It’s unfortunately not realistic for me to get them all so I’m sticking to my list. The Peoplebusters will very likely be my next order, the preview at SDCC looked amazing and can’t wait to see more of them. The Mondo team has to be cognizant that some buyers may start to get more selective once we’re past Louis so it will interesting to see what will be in their sets, will it be more timed editions and no more standard editions, will the prices go up and total made go down, etc.
I want to throw an order in, but I didn’t get any of the others because I have been on a break from buying toys for a while…And now coming out of it I realize I messed up by not buying any of these releases so far 
I might just start getting everything going forward and hope that I can get my hands on the 4 busters and Janine somewhere along the way for not too crazy of a price.
I know what you mean about space and too many Ectos. I got both the Haslab Ectos, The Re Release Kenner Classic Ecto, the Ecto Glow Ecto, the smaller hasbro Ecto that matches the GI Joe Scale Figures, Both Playmobil Ectos, The Afterlife Lego Ecto, Both Afterlife and Frozen Empire Ectos from Hasbro (which the only diffrence is one comes with a drone and two stripes of paint), The Transformers Ecto (I almost forgot about that one)…and the original lego Ecto 1 from I think 2008 or something like that. The Mondo will likely be the last Ecto I buy, short of hitting the lotto, buying both blitzway Ectos and building my own personal one lol. With Ghostbusters collecting in general, you reach a certain point where you go, ok, I got so many configurations of the Ectos, the guys, various ghosts, enough is enough lol. Id love to be able to afford the high End Blitzway Stuff, or the various statues put out, etc…but as a fan and a collector, im reaching the point where im looking at my collection and going, ok, how much of this is just various repeats of the Ecto, the guys, and the ghosts, in various scales and styles. Even the Haslab Proton Pack and trap and pre meeter, im like, ok id like a ecto goggles set, maybe a remote control afterlife ghost trap, but how much more can they make?

Update from Mondo for anyone outside the USA the previous shipping costs was a promotional period and now we can expect higher costs , I know there hands are tied but when shipping is half the price of the figures seems crazy
I’m not satisfied by that response but… it is what it is. They’ve clearly weighed up the loss of business versus the profit they’ll make and think this is the best path.
It’s going to kill the completionist collectors market internationally. So either the majority of their business is the US, or maybe this line doesn’t have much gas left after all. They said they’d keep going as long as it’s supported. But this is already an inflated line due to license wranglin’ - and now shipping is half the cost of the figures. That will decimate support for the line globally.
A shipping promotional period that lasted almnost two years? I’m not sure that explanation passes the smell test… But there isn’t a lot we can do about the change.

Never heard a bigger pile of ■■■■■■■■ in my life. Promotional period? Pull the other one, Mondo. It’s a gouge on overseas customers, nothing less.
Edit - delighted that the new swear filter picked up my very British outburst!
No business makes the plan to gouge customers away from buying more product so they can profit off of the shipping that won’t take place. That’s absurd.

It’s possible… Though if DHL were largely responsible for the price hike, I’m certain Mondo could’ve found a way to make that known to their customers without it straying into defamatory territory. Something like: “Unfortunately the shipping costs are rising following a review by DHL of its shipping costs… etc, etc.”
