I was just wondering if anyone on the board rides a motorcycle?
I’m looking to start off doing the basics this month (My CBT for anyone in the UK, Outside im not sure if it works differently) And was just wondering if anyone had advice, Guidance, or just general amusing stories about flying off at 150mph into a hedge
Have you rode before? If not my main problems was the pressure change,when you would thump it out, also watch for dame birds just ask! 
I used to own a RM125 two stroke, but I haven’t rode any dirt bikes in quite a long time (at least not in the proper sense). I’ve also occasionally been on any of my dad’s bikes, including a CR250 two-stroke, and a YZ450 four-stroke. I’ve been on a few different dirt bike tracks…fun times. All I can say is don’t be afraid to crash, because you will…and it can make for an interesting story later on.
(Also, according to some of the more superstitious riders, you should put a scratch on a brand new helmet, if you have one. It helps to break the “magnetic” connection between the helmet and the ground, according to that belief.)
I’m basically at pre square one, I’ve wanted a bike since I was a kid, Now that i’m nearly 24 and having a mid life crisis I felt now was a good time to start.
CBT is compulsory basic training, basically sit complete newbies on a 125 and send them careening into walls
And I know i’m going to crash, It’s part and parcel of the whole shebang, Also apparently you always drop your first bike so I’m fully prepared for dinting everything 
Neutral is your best friend. Ease off the clutch and pretend like gas is gold so that you don’t accidentally pop a wheelie. It’s easier than driving a car. I was stuck in Indiana and wanted to get back to California, so I bought a bike and learned how to drive on a permit over the course of 4 days of hard riding. One of the greatest moments in my life.
Started riding off road dirt bikes pre-teen and have been riding every since, this is my current street ride… 1200cc of American V-Twin…
And yes you will fall and yes it will hurt, in fact it will hurt like hell at anything over a crawl…
My biggest advice if you are heading out on public roadways, EVERYONE IS OUT TO KILL YOU AND RUN YOU OVER TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE DEAD! Remember that and repeat it your head while you ride… There isn’t a week that goes by when I’m riding where I don’t have to take corrective measures to avoid a DOLT on the road that doesn’t see me or doesn’t care…

Alot of riders seem to have horror stories of the sheer stupidity of certain other road users, So i’m a little prepared (My personal opinion being if that Drivers took a little more caution and curtosy for Riders, And Riders started being a little more sensible when overtaking and positioning then the accidents would decline)
Exoray is right,I have got to a point were I’m afraid to ride on a public road,I have came realclose to being owned! Watch the cross winds too! Gotta watch everbody!
taking a class before getting a bike is a smart idea, can help save on insurance and accessories. When you are no longer afraid to ride, that is when you need to quit riding.
I’m just about to that point! But when you still making payment on $14000 bike you don’t know what really to do,because nobody has the money to buy it and you just don’t want it to set in the garage! With all the dope heads today you can’t be to careful!
