What is the consensus opinion on the use of a non-gray or navy flight suit? Are there purists, or do people generally agree that if you want to be the ghostbuster that stands out, go for it?
I think everyone will agree, it is safe to say most people in the public will remember a khaki/grayish Ghostbusters suit though that isn’t to say other colors won’t be recognized as a Ghostbuster. Looking at XxEctOxX’s RGB costumes again make me really want to go that route one day. His RGB stuff is amazing.
Some people just like to be different and use other colors, some are for other franchises. Some people probably just want to do something a little different. Can’t go wrong with the classic though IMO though some of the straight khaki suits end up looking a little more yellow. I can’t imagine not dying mine thinking about it now. That’s me though 
A lot of people go after the dark GB2 look as well.

I think when I get a few more paychecks, I am going to go for an obscure colored one with a personal name tag, so I can just be myself when people ask which one I am.

I think this picture from San Diego is a good example that everyone and group has their own preference on suits. We just made a set of the blue/grey ones.
Whoa, you actually made the GB2 style suits? I have to see those!
For me, I would love to see more colors used. I went straight into a black suit for mine. Even if I do get a “normal” suit, I am not going to dye it. I will be covering it in slime and other stuff

I went with a dark blue… because at the last minute I realized my gray one was a size too small. 
I also went with a GB3 patch just so no one could say my costume was inaccurate… Who knows what the 3rd movie would be like. And again, when I had it on no one really questioned the colors… they just enjoyed the outfit.
Pulling up a dead topic, yes, but I say custom is about the best way to go. It give you liberties you would never normally explore then making screen-accurate uniforms. I mean, look at our team. We’re now moving over to Navy color suits with custom patches and keeping out pads and belts their original white color.
well I am personally going black on mine. and using a GB3 patch. yes I said 3. I will eventually get the khaki in the future but for now I like black.
When I was still in Knoxville, the 4 of us had different color uniforms.
I personally like a color variation but there is something to be said for the old khaki.
Personally, I give A LOT of credit to the people that make’em as accuate as possible. I can’t be easy to go for all the details especially on a 25 year old movie (20 yrs for GBII) in wich the equipment was ‘custom’ and ‘home-made’ to begin with. But I’m a little twords the custom side, its a 25 year old franchise, SOMETHING must have changed over the years. (At least new boots or somethin). Some of wich we’ll see in the upcoming game as the equipment evolves.
My plans were to make a GBII uniform first, mainly because the only patch I have so far is a GBII patch. But I’m kinda leaning twords “re-mixing it up a little bit”. Not too much though, but enough to be a little custom, but staying in the original flavor. As soon as I get the uniform done I’ll post it so stay tuned! 
One thing is certain, ORIGINAL will always be ORIGINAL and it never goes old. Just ask the Nike, Addidas & Converse! :walterpeck:
