Hi all, i have been lurking all the great builds by some of the best here on this forum from a couple of months now.
I decided to build a pack and bought a Nikatron full kit a couple of months ago.
I started my build two weeks ago and I have been working all evenings and weekends.
Sorry but I completely forgot to take wip pics because I was way too much into my build.
But anyway here’s some first pics with the lights in the packs.
I still need to add the n-filter and some stuff here and there.
Next up is the Neutrona wand
Awesome job!! Looks grimey which I love. The nfilter will really finish it off. Looking forward to the thrower updates
Excellent weathering! Do you mind if I ask what materials and methods you used? I’m about to start weathering my recently-finished pack.

I love the original props where they look all weathered and that is what I wanted to achieve.

No problem yes. I used MIG pigment.
First I put some thinner in a cup and add pigment in there. THe thinner helps the pigment to hold on the surface.
What you can do is apply thinner with a brush and then apply the pigment with a big bursh. Let is dry and remove the excess with a bry brush.

Thanks for the reply! I have some AK, MIG, and Vallejo pigments but I think I’ll reserve them for model-making. I’m a little concerned about how much pigment (and money) I’d go through weathering something this large. However, I have plenty of Fuller’s Earth from my Clone Commander costume build. Perhaps I’ll use that in lieu of the MIG pigment.
How many containers of MIG pigment did you use? I could use up a whole container and not feel too bad about that…

I used one container. You don’t need to put that much actually
This was an awesome looking pack. Love the weathered look. Really interested in how your thrower turns out!
