I just wanted to post some pictures of my third pack build, which is my first experience working with a shell. I got mine from DL4567, and couldn’t be happier with it. I really wish I had taken more pictures of it before starting on it, but believe me, his shell and mobo combination are well worth the money. Derek was great to deal with, and I would gladly do business with him again.
The shell itself was sturdy enough to stand on, and required virtually no clean up. I attached it to the mobo using MMMs kit. Most of the greeblies came from colin, but several came from the GB fans shop. I will post more pictures of the final product in the next couple of days, but sadly these are the only ones I have of the actual build. I’m sure you all know that once you’re in the rhythm sometimes it’s hard to stop to take pictures. I’m glad to answer any questions anyone has, so feel free to ask.
Immediately after unpacking, fresh out of the box
Unworked shell with miscellaneous greeblies laid on it, just for visual satisfaction ![]()
In a couple of pics you can catch a glimpse of my mostly finished MMM thrower. I will get into it more in depth later on…
The bumper is from nick-a-tron.
After a good amount of taping, I sprayed a generous amount of wall texturing I picked up at home depot as even as possible. It looks pretty aggressive in these pictures, but I’m happy with the way it turned out now.
During the painting process. I used Rustoleum’s Satin black, with the bench on the can. This stuff went on great, and I stocked up on it for my trap build down the road;
Here it is with most of the details added, just hanging out after the hoses and light kit were put in place.
More to come. I have to take some decent non-cell phone pictures, and a video or two of the lights. Thank for looking!
