I tend to agree with Vince. ![]()
I’ve never seen a build thread stir up so much excitement this quickly, especially from just one picture!! ![]()
Here’s to Nick! :nicejobyoudid:
Looks awesome so far brother, I cant wait to see more!
Nick-a-tron. Bigi shell. 'Nough said. ![]()
Just when I think I’m doing alright with my pack, I see something like this and reality smacks me in the face.
Beautiful, Nick!
Pretty much…
Looks great Nick!
Looks great, Nick. My only real critique is the ribbon cable: I’d twist it a little differently and have it just a tad shorter. I don’t know else to describe it other then your best bet is to model it off of one of the screen used pack. It sorta looks like Ray’s from the Sedgwick but not quite.
Like I said, other then that, its Damn near perfect (minus the n-filter of course).

Thanks Everyone! Matt I modeled my cable twist on Rays pack when he’s running to Peter after his run in with slimer.

I cant really get it any tighter and to me it looks pretty close. Could you point out how I should re-twist it please?
Maybe once you get the cable clamp it’ll be a little more final. Looks pretty damn close to me. Personally, I think that you can only see the Rainbow part at the bottom near the cable clamp in this scene and the rest is mainly white.
On my pack I know the Rainbow part shows twice in the twist, and it looks like yours does too. Another small thing I noticed is that its not pressed up against the Filler Tube. Once again though, probably because the cable clamp isn’t there yet.
The best way I can describe it is it seems to me that the cable is first folded in half, long-ways, then twisted. At least 2 of the ribbon cables looked like they were twisted that way. It will also help once you have the clamp for it.
Thanks Matt. When I get my cable clamp ill have a play about.
Ok got my injectors made up. Im pretty happy with my fake welds ![]()
Those look better then most of the real welds i’ve seen.. How the heck do you do it?!?!? lol
Are those the straights i think they are? ![]()
Thanks Kenny! I use miliput and wet cotton buds/Q-tips to make the weld pattern.
And yes they are real straights from your good self, only the best for this pack.
Really nice pack you’ve got going there. Makes me want to replace the GB2 ribbon cable on my “hero” pack.
And I’ll second the compliment on those fake welds. Beautiful.
Very nice. How did you go about making the weld between the booster and the ion arm? Did you just fill the space with filler putty?
Thanks! The weld between the ion arm and booster tube was made by 1st gluing in a piece of solid round bar and then uisng my miliput and wet cotton swab technique to sculpt the welds.
Those weld are way more realistic and accurate than mine, im jealous!
hmmmm…that shell looks kinda familar ![]()
Great to see what you have done so far Nick, looks fantastic. Maybe my next one will be a GB1 pack too (if i ever do a next one, hehe)
Do you plan to use a metal N-filter on this ? Im also curious about how youre going to attach it then, looking forward to see more ![]()
Thanks Bjorn! If not for you this pack (and many others) would never be as nice as they will be.
Yes I will be using a metal N-filter, got a few ideas about how to attach it but i wont know for sure until I have it in hand.
Id love to see a GB1 pack made by yourself.
