My Latest Find!

I wasn’t sure if this belonged in collectables or the movie section but since I bought this as a part of my collection I thought I’d stick it here.

I came across a 35mm print of the Ghostbusters movie trailer on Ebay, needless to say I grabbed it! from what I can tell it seems to be in pretty good shape.

I’m going to break out my 35mm adapter for my scanner and scan some frames. I figure it’ll make for some good 8X10s!

Once I scan some frames I’ll post some here for you guys if you want!

needless to say I was really excited when this was in my mailbox today!

What adapter are you using?

I have a Canoscan 8400f it came with a bunch of media adapters for all sorts of slides negatives etc..

while I have not perfected this yet here’s a frame grab I’ve done:

I’m going to see if I can pull a clearer image and brighten it…loks like this is going to be a fun project!

EDIT: I have to work from the end of the trailer to the begining as that is the way it’s wound on the spool

I’ve finished scanning the print and while I have quite a few frames of film to go through I thought I’d post a few to share. The Blu ray caps are definetly the way to go for hi-res, but I think after some tweaking and searching for clear and clean frames these will be pretty cool. I’m sorry to say there were no images of the Terror Dogs, Slimer, Stay Puft, Peck, Library Ghost, or Louis. But there are some cool frames :

Update:

I just found another print on Ebay, I purchased this one as well. What I’m wondering is the trailer that I’ve seen on facebook and on the blu ray is different than what I have. Several scenes are not in the print I originally purchased from the seller in the UK.

Could there be a different version of the trailer that they released over there? what’s missing from my UK reel is:

Scene of the Terror Dogs

Egon in the Library

Scenes of the Ballroo

Mayor’s Office scene

Subway ghost shot

Dana’s apartment exploding and street rising

Jail scene

Louis at the restraunt window

The enitre scene on the temple stairs

and various other quick shots of the cast (including Winston)

My first thought was it was cut and spliced. after looking closely where the splices should be I could not find the ususal signs that it had broke or been cut. (Tape, area thicker than the rest of the print, broken sprocket holes etc..)

I guess it will be interesting to see how this other one looks when it gets here. If it does contian those missing spots I’ll pull some more scans and post them here as well. I was hoping someone might have some insight on this though.
