Hi

This weekend there is a big cool party over. And everybody is partying dressed up !

While playing old “Sega Megadrive/Genesis - Ghostbusters” i suddenly got the idea to go like a Ghostbuster.

Last week i received my GB Costume from ebay by an English guy. Very proper made !

And now i needed some extra accesories. Just walked into the local home depot and found some black rubber gloves and above.. i founded Welding Goggles ! And bought the stuff :wink:

Since i want to go cheap and make this in an hour or so ( don’t have allot time to find the stuff like the original ecto goggles ) i used some old cable entry’s and electronics like a resistor and Voltage regulators ( two thingies on the lenses ).

Well guys.. what do you think of it ? :slight_smile:

I love the lenses.

I am a new prop maker myself.

But yah, maybe paint it khaki?

Looks too far from the khaki coloured regular uniforms and props.

So just paint the body, the lenses I think are 100%. Besides the wires…

I wish i could. The green ugly part of the goggles are flexible plastics… so its unpossible to paint it.

What the Rolling Stones are singing… I want it paint it black !

But its just not possible :frowning:

I like what you did with the resistors. Now I’m tempted to see what I can do with my box of computer odds and ends, when I start my gogs. :smiley:

Nah I am sure there is a paint you can use.

Just be sure to sand it first etc. So the paint sticks. Otherwise it will flake off.

Go into a crafts store, and ask them what kind of paint you should use for like flexible plastic.

Black would be cool.

I have had success painting the soft vinyl of welding goggles with Vinyl Paint. It is a type of spray paint made by Dupli Color and says “Vinyl and Fabric Coating” on the can. I found it at an Automotive store, I believe Autozone, in the paint section. However I would definately take the frames and scrub them in hot water with soap to degrease them (might try using dish detergent). I also sanded my frames before painting, but I cannot be sure whether this helped or not. I might have painted a pair without sanding with the same effect, I can’t remember.

Sadly i dont have the time to try it.. The Four days of partying dressup start over a couple hours :confused:

But i can try it after the party and use it next year =) Then i can also make me a ghost trap and maybe a proton pack :slight_smile:
