My Proton Pack Finished

I finally finished putting together my proton pack. It was a lot of work, more than I thought when I started. I’m pretty much pleased with it. Some parts are off, especially the wand. It was my first attempt.

Credits:

Funkzilla: Shell, Bumper, Ion Arm, HGA, Wand Body and Wand Kit

Irricanian: Complete Trap, Motherboard, Dixie V Hook, Resistor Set, Clippard Brass Set, Ribbon Cable Clamp, Crank Knob, Clippard Valves, Light Cell Sheets and Tubing Set

Exoray: Lights

uscm buzz: Orange Caps, Trigger Box, Clear Tube Barrel and Gun Adapter Ring Set

Prop Fan: Knob Set, Sticker Set, Alkon Connectors and Banjo Tips

Phantom50: Ion Arm Assembly

Joann’s, Michael’s, Home Depot and Lowe’s: Nuts, Bolts, Paint, Washers, Shock Mount, Paint, Plexiglass, Glue, ect.

Inaccuracies:

The bottom rings on the cyclotron are a bit inwards.

There’s only one metal plate on the ribbon cable.

All four tubes are off, especially the ones above the cyclotron.

The bumper is not completely even.

HGA is a bit too deep and the screws on it are off.

The elbows placement on the ion arm are off.

The nuts for the screws and L clamps to attach the shell to the motherboard are on the outside.

The black tubing is an inch thick.

Legris elbows and Dixie V hook substitutes.

The handles on the bars are off. The outer bar is only 6".

Only 2 lights work on the wand besides the bar light.

Metal screws hold in the trigger box.

Knobs on the left side of the wand are off.

The bottom plate has the screws in wrong places.

Some stickers are not put on.

Some of these pics are blurry, I apologize. Looking back now I realize I should have planned out the length and placement of each part. It was the reason why the handles on the wand are off. I also pretty much decided to make a new wand in the distant future. Maybe next summer of the year after. I am pretty happy with my pack considering it’s my first. Learning to properly drill, paint and sand made a huge difference so if I do this again I’ll have a better idea of what to do. If heard people debate on what color to use. I used glossy black and I think it’s a great color. It looks great with Exoray’s lights.

Thanks to Stefan and Venkman71 for their plans.

For the thread on my progress go here:

Looks fantastic, very nice pack!

As for the differences, it’s pretty much true that anybody apart from someone here will notice the differences!
