I have a German Ersatz “Demag” model 1915/18 bayonet used during WW1 for the Mauser G98 rifle. I have searched all over the net and have seen plenty of reproductions for around $50-$150, but this is an original so I’m sure it worth much more (at least I’m hoping it is).. any help or pointers on where I could get a real value for this item would be greatly appreciated

Yeah as if I haven’t done that already!! How else did I come to find out what kinda blade it was to begin with. All I can find is reproductions nothing original or authentic of that time period. Although it is nice to know that you invested that time in me to make yourself look like an idiot/prick… Just saying
And do you honestly think you’re going to find the answer on a Ghostbusters forum?
Try actually finding and contacting who professionally appraises Military Memorabilia and Collectibles, or even a Museum. They have people on-staff for this sort of thing.
Hell, even be the nice guy and Donate it to a Museum. But I suppose that’s out of the question, hm?
But if you’re absolutely desperate there’s always the Antique Roadshow.
I recently sold a 1943 jap samuri sword… And how I figured out its worth was I took it to the local museum, and they were kind enough to give me a very good ball park value and I went from there… Hope this helps out…
Thanks for the pointer!! I was told I wouldn’t find any help on here, nice to prove dumb people wrong!
Being a jerk isn’t going to help. Thread locked.
