need help identifying slimer plush

Hey gang,

I recently purchased this slimer plush/pillow. I was just curious if anybody had seen it before or had any information about what it is and where it comes from. The only tag still on it says “Only Kids” and it’s about 16 inches tall and 1 ft wide. It’s only about 3 or 4 inches thick. On the back of the tag in the photo is the usually jargon about licensed product from columbia pictures. So it was an officially licensed product and not home made which was my thought at one point.

This looks like it is another plush toy from a crane game.

It’s not new at all. I can tell you it is quite worn with some staining. The tag only has 1984 copyright so I’m pretty sure it came out the same year as the first movie.

My mistake, I only thought it might be a more recent item since the plushies started showing up in Crane machines at Wal Mart, and numerous other businesses.

Despite the stains, it looks like a nice find.

Actually that came out when Ghostbusters II did in '89…It even features the Slimer concept art, done for the film, as seen in the ILM book located here Spook Central - Ghostbusters II Books - theraffon…

The “1984” copyright has always been the defacto copyright date, and is on everything GB, however it’s not necessarily when the item came out itself…

Thanks for the info, so it’s from gb2 huh. I thought this slimer looked familiar. I really do think it is a neat plush and am happy that its in my collection. I wish I had a little more info on it.
