So I am looking to take part in building my first pack and I only want to do it once. I also have another friend that is on the board that wants to do this together. So we were thinking about buying a fiberglass shell and adding all the other pieces including lights. I was wondering if anyone knew of someone that was selling two high quality shells so we can begin this journey in time for Halloween? Any help, or tips are welcome and I saw the thread about buying and building so I have already taken a look at that I just need a shell to begin with.

IMO if you’re going to make one, make the whole thing yourself… I learned a lot just from building myself a trap. Not to knock Exoray’s shells, mind you, because they’re top notch. Just feels more accomplishing if you do it yourself.
I had thought about building one myself from scratch from wood and stuff but then I want to have lights and I just think it would be an even bigger hassal that way plus being able to wear one for extended periods of time. I have looked at the plans before on how to build one but I dont have the tools either. Which plans are the best? Norms plans are pretty easy but I was looking to build one that was more true to GB 1. Any tips or plans to look at?
Stefan’s and Sean’s are the best… Norm’s aren’t really accurate. If you want a 1:1 template for Stefan’s plans I posted them on the board.
Yeah stefan is the way to go, i used them on my pack, first time build too, on and off, took around 3 months to build, thats inbetween work and having a social life too, haha, pack building can be time consuming but absolutely worth it. If you started now you’d have it done by halloween, not to mention a tremendous sense of pride too in thinking “I built this…I BUILT THIS!” seriously can’t be beat 
Yeah I totally agree. When I was a kid, I always wanted my Uncle to build me a proton pack. 16 or so years later and I’ve already built myself a trap and just started on my pack. It’s fun as hell. I like the quote in your sig, too, very apt 
one last question for the time being, does Stefan’s plans allow for a light kit in the pack and wand?
You can make your pack from absolutely anything to build up the shape to Stefan’s (or anyone’s) plans… As long as you make those shapes hollow, adding lights or anything won’t be a problem…

thats exactly how I felt when I finished my pack.. nothing feels greater than to look at something thats simply awesome and know that it came from your two hands.
