New Buster from Sweden!

Hi all!

My name is Micke, 43 years old, live in Sweden. I’ve got a 3.5 year old daughter and my fiancee, and works within IT and also performing as a mentalist!

I’ve been lurking here on and off for a few years, until I finally came to terms with that I simply HAD to build my own pack.

It all started a number of years ago, when I borrowed a jumpsuit and a pack from a friend for a sci-fi convention. He borrowed my Biker Scout and I borrowed his Ghostbuster…

So… why Ghostbusters? (Silly question to answer in this forum…)

Well, it all started back in 1984, I was 11 years old and went to the movies with my dad…

Since then, I’ve been involved with the 501st, built a Biker Scout, half a Stormtrooper and a few other costumes. I’ve spent most of the time building my R2-D2 and BB-8, and along the line, I realised I loved the build process more than anything else, so building a proton pack seemed like the logical next step!

Right now, our little family is under a lot of stress as our small daughter unfortunately got diagnosed with a large brain tumor this summer, and building for me is my biggest outlet, my biggest way of relieving stress and coping with .. well .. life.

First step was to build the trap from countspatula’s files (I need to paint the pedal and install the last part of electronics) image

After already ordering quite a few items, I managed to trade my half-finish Stormtrooper for a complete pack out of MDF (but I will still build my own..)

So, I’ve got a nick-a-tron kit on the way (hero pack and thrower), got some alu parts coming and quite a few items that I’m still waiting for at the gbfans shop.

Looking forward to document my build as soon as I get some more details done

All the best,

Micke

Welcome! That’s a great trap! I look forward to seeing progress on your pack.

I’m sorry to hear about your daughter. I have a brain tumor as well, but it’s fairly small and hasn’t shown much growth. My wife freaks out about it but I’m more at peace with it because… well… it’s me. If it were one of my kids I’d be dying. I can’t imagine the stress you must be feeling and I genuinely hope she gets better.
