Was wondering if anyone else noticed this. I didnt hear anyhting about it and was out looking around at some records today and found a newly released record set. Ghostbusters Stay Puft Edition and are you ready for this…White, marshmallow scented vinyl!
There was a limit of 1 per customer though I have seen they are on Amazon and eBay. A bit over priced at around 42.00 for a single 12" but it also has some cool stuff included. I will post a few pics from other peoples auctions, I dont think I am going to open this one.
Actually, a couple of our members (Dan AKA, Jonny Ruckus, mburkit, Jack Doud, Luna X Mars, among many others) were commissioned by Sony to promote the vinyl all over NYCC when they first announced it… I used the term “commissioned” loosely, as to my knowledge, they were not compensated for their efforts… but I bet it was still a lot of fun!
We were, in fact, contacted by Sony to promote the release of this at NYCC were we also gave away the first ten public copies of this awesome collectors item. It was a lot of fun!
Got mine yesterday, the lenticular art inside is pretty good and the album cover design is super-cool (with exception of the fact that the little Stay Puft sash is just a piece of paper that isn’t incorporated into the cover itself). White vinyl is great, wish there was more than just the two songs on it. Would have been awesome if they’d have done some art or something on the flat b-side of the record as well.
Cool collector’s item. But not a whole lot of substance to it, sadly.
My sentiments EXACTLY. The cool sash and limited edition sticker, no way to keep them attached and nice. I was lucky enough to find an old sleeve that had been stretched out enough to wrap it around this ridiculously large package. Really cool set with no real substance, the art work is really neat though.
WOW, you know - I had completely forgotten about the promise of the 6" Stay Puft figure to pre-orders… didn’t get mine either. Wonder what the deal is there?
EDIT: Headed over to the Ghostbusters.com site and saw a lot of comments on the item asking about the figure. According to MyPlay, it’ll be sent separately and we’ll receive an email when it’s in the mail.
