New Member from Maine

My name is Jon. I live in Mexico, Maine - it’s a small town near the western Maine border. Lot’s of forests and mountains, but not much else. Computers and electronics are a hobby for me. I’ve built every desktop that I’ve ever owned and like to build R/C Cars and tinker with electronics.

I found this site while looking for information about proton pack kits and parts needed to build them, as well as reference pictures. I have been lurking here for a little while looking at the different topics and projects people are working on. There are some truly amazing looking build posts and some very talented builders.

I decided to make an account and have started working on getting everything together I will need to build a GB1 pack. Mostly putting together part lists and searching the forums for help locating them. I plan to build a pack with as many non-replica parts as I can find.

Good luck with the pack!

Have you given any thought to what you wanted to about themain pack shell? There are many talented artists on here who make good quality pack shells. However do your self a favor and read the feed back threads for each seller before buying.

welcome, from a fellow Mainer!

Welcome to the forums. I look forward to seeing what you build and maybe gearing up with you someday as you’re only a state over from me!

I’ve already contacted Derek - DL4567- about getting one of his shells and motherboards. From what I’ve seen and read in the forums, he makes an amazing shell.

I placed an order for some of the parts through the shop and have already found and ordered some of the fittings and valves. I was also planning on getting some of my parts from MMM and hopefully I will be able to at least get on the waiting lists for some of the amazing aluminum/metal parts runs as they occur here in the forums. I’m also hoping to get TC’s Proton Gun Kit V3.0.

I had been looking at some of the parts listed on eBay but then I found the thread of black listed sellers, so I won’t be getting about half of what I thought I had found. I do plan on getting the light kits for my pack from Jupiter Electronics.
