New York, 1984, and now...

Hey guys, check out this really cool link. It’s from a film scouting site. Here’s the introductory paragraph…

“Today marks the first installment of “New York, You’ve Changed,” a new Scouting NY series in which the New York featured in movies is compared with the city of today. This is not meant to be the usual list of shooting locations and addresses to visit next time you tour the city. Instead, this is a full shot-by-shot dissection to see what New York once was and what it has become, for better or worse. I’ve tried to recreate the angles and framing as best as possible, and have presented the shots (more or less) in the order they appear in the film. Enjoy!”

It’s really cool, check it out!! :cool:

(There’s a link to part 2 at the bottom of the page)

Thanks for posting this. I listened to the score while scrolling through these pictures earlier today.

Nice job you did!

VERY nice find. Hopefully one day I can scrounge up the change to visit in person. :slight_smile:

Very interesting details.. good thing most of the shots were taken in places that hardly change during the years. When and if I visit NY, it’s my first mission to visit some of those places. :stuck_out_tongue:

For anyone thinks that the major GB sites are in competition with one another, I submit this thread as proof otherwise.

There are a couple of of extra, small articles, surrounding the GB2 birthday party house;

Turned out the winners were close, but were off by a few houses. Nobody had the exact right answer.

Took until this past Winter for me to locate and confirm.

We had the right house, but not the right house number.

Not a winner. But did send in a photo of the house after an hour or two of the contest being up.

“close but off by a few house numbers…” it should say then.

Just read the article. Awesome find.

HA!! There’s* always* construction going on in front of the library.
