Maybe Kim Jong Un was a Ghostbusters fan and “the movie of the terror” was this remake.
If anything we’ve recently learned Sony doesn’t care about its talent, employees, quality of its products and certainly not their fans.
All they care about is money.
So the best thing to do us not see the movie and encourage others to avoid it too.

Anyway…if it happens, it happens. I will still go watch it with an open mind; everyone should that decides to watch it. I think the UK needs to come up with a “Ghostbusters” movie.
Uh, that I would wait for Netflix, it would be a long wait, but I wouldn’t drop most of a twenty to see that kinda trainwreck.
Fans did raise the dead after the early leaks about TMNT and supposedly the entire “Alien Turtles” idea was scrapped. In its place was installed more explosions but hey, the fans did accomplish something there,
I understand your frustration. I wanted a sequel, not a reboot. And they’ll work for the government? undercover? What happened to free entrepeneurship?
I so much prefered Dan’s idea of the passing of the torch. But probably we’ll end up liking it. It probably will also mean a whole new set of ghost busting equipment to build.
I kinda like the idea that Channing Tatum has. If Dan would engage in some cross talk with him it might pan out and save us all some Excedrin runs.
Ya know what, just bring back RGB and go with that.
I desperately want a high quality CG Ghostbusters series like the Ninja Turtles.
That way when this flop hits the cinemas we can fall back on the toon. Just like TMNT.

I would prefer it not be done in the minimally detailed style that seems to be very popular in cartoons that aren’t fully rendered in 3D, though.
So, you’re telling me the new TMNT is detailed? Not from what I’ve seen… to me, it seems every CG cartoon out there looks cheap and are just out there to make a quick buck… 3D depth does not equal “detail”…
At no point did I actually say that it was. LandoSystem was the one who brought up the the Nick TMNT series as an example of an 80s property that’s doing quite well on children’s television in spite of a bad movie rearing it’s ugly terrapin beak. I found it quite decent as well, although I’m behind on it and I do prefer other iterations.
I am really up for a cartoon, CGI or traditionally animated. I just don’t want it trying to stylistically emulate what’s popular now with non-CGI cartoons if it goes in the latter route. That’s all I was saying.
The recent remastering of the opening title sequence of RGB has me itching to see some high quality 3D ghost animation.
I like the new TMNT series a lot and think its general style would be well suited for Ghostbusters (though with more detailed human characters - the humans on TMNT are a little weird looking).
I find the animation on TMNT to be outstanding. Star Wars: The Clone Wars had some beautiful and exciting CG animation. The action on Star Wars Rebels can be good and the recent Tron series was beautiful. We’re not talking Jimmy Neutron here. If you think TMNT looks bad… well… I really don’t know what to say. Because it looks great.
A more traditional looking series with character models similar to the recent comic series would also be nice. CG seems to be the new trend, though. And I’m fine with it.
CG is not a new trend… in fact, it’s been way overused… I don’t know if anybody here cares for the movie Frozen, but have you seen the original concept art? They were beautiful, would have much rather had a hand drawn version… I do agree, a well made Dan Schoening/IDW style cartoon would be fantastic!
Prominent CG cartoons have been around since the Johnny Quest reboot and… ReBoot… back in the 90’s but it’s clearly trending now.
Some of the most popular and successful animated series on television are 3D CG. It’s obviously the new trend, just as I said.
Whether you prefer 2D to 3D… whatever, your opinion. There are great looking 3D CG animated series currently on television. 3D =/= bad animation.
Most “hand drawn” animation is now CG anyway.
Frankly, they could have used techniques from 77 years ago and I still wouldn’t think Frozen is that great. :sigh:
It’s only really overused in children’s animated films. On television, it would still be competing with or running alongside 2D animation.

I prefer puppetry, film splicing, and rotoscoping. That’s where the real talent is. Also, Boomerjinks is my hero.
I don’t think the world is quite ready for a giant Bill Murray puppet just yet.
