I was wondering if anyone had any feedback about omega_props on ebay. He’s a new seller, so I am a little skeptical but as long as it’s through ebay, and ebay has it’s buyer protection program, I’m willing to give him a shot. I was just hoping to get a little feedback before I made a purchase.
Mods, if this is in the wrong forum, I apologize. Please move it, if I placed it in the wrong section.
Just a heads up to anyone looking to buy a proton pack or ghost trap on eBay. Seller omega_props has stolen one of my pictures of my proton pack to advertise his/her auction. They also appear to have stolen MultiMediaMayhem’s trap pictures, judging by the pedal details, for their Ghost Trap auction. I don’t know if they’re selling legitimate pieces or not, but I just thought I’d give the users here a heads up, just in case, since at the very least, they seem unwilling to take pictures of their own props, assuming they have any in the first place.
Also, looking at his history on ebay. All his items and list #'s in the last few days are set to “private”. I opened a fake ebay account and sent him a question about the item. Got back a vague answer. Try to avoid this guy. $550 for the pack and lights.. may be a little tooooooo good to be true.
Sorry to hear about your guys’ pictures being ganked as well. You should and can report that to ebay btw. If you care enough to.
Bah. must have missed that. Still, I don’t want my photos associated with his auction since there’s no telling what the actual product will end up looking like. That, and, I’d rather have been asked.
As pointed out, god only knows what it’ll end up looking like for less than a grand.
I requested he remove my pic. Should he not, within 24 hours, I’ll report him.
Fair points. I went ahead and reported the proton pack. I can’t be 100% sure he stole MMM’s pics for the trap, so I’ll leave that up to Colin, should he wish to pursue it. The method of attaching the ribbon cable certainly looks like the method Colin used in leu of the actual connectors, though.
My experience with eBay image theft was as positive as CPU64’s, someone was selling a bootleg RGB set with my cover design on it, after I reported the use of the image without my permission, the auction was pulled really quickly.
This is ridiculous. I got a response from eBay, and now, in order to report the auction as a violation, I have to join this little clique group of Intellectual Copyright owners, print a form, fill it out, fax it in, and cross my fingers.
Wish me luck everyone, as I try to jump through their hurdles.
Glad I could help, guys, and thanks for all the support. I just didn’t want anyone getting ripped off, especially when it’d be my pack being used to rip them off. I really hope no one here bought from them
