Omnibus vs Monthly Issues

I’ve never been a comic book collector until the Ghostbusters monthly starting coming out. What is the benefit to buying either collective volumes or individual issues? Is the monthly cover artwork available in the omnibus, as well?

The omnibusis is “The Real Ghostbusters” from the 1980’s the other omnibus is a collection of GB comics from Infestation, The Other Side, and a few other graphic novels. However there are trade paper backs (I think they’re up to volume 3) those are the ongoing comic series, I don’t believe they include the covers though and the PCOC files are all in the back instead of being at the end of every issue.

The shop has all of them (some are out of stock but just so you know what to look for)

RGB 1980’s Omnibus: Real Ghostbusters Omnibus Vol. 1 - Comic Books - GBFans.com Shop

GB Omnibus: Ghostbusters Omnibus Vol. 1 - Comic Books - GBFans.com Shop

Ongoing Trade: Ghostbusters Trade Paperback Vol. #1 - Comic Books - GBFans.com Shop

Well, bottom line is that you can’t have the omnibus books without the singles. So if the individual issues don’t receive all the support they can get, then they get canceled. No more anything after that.

Same thing is true about selling the comics in the GBFans Shop!

We’ve been seeing lower and lower ordering and pre-orders on the comics.

We’re also one of the only places that still has some back issues in stock!

Okay. Thanks for the feedback.

I’ve pre-ordered every issue and plan to continue doing so. I hope this comic has a half life of 5,000 years..

Plus the comic itself isn’t difficult to follow so you aren’t bogged down by too much continuity. Jumping on should be relatively easy.

I recently branched out to the comic books. I’m fortunate enough to have a very good comic book shop in my local area that stocks pretty much everything. I started out with the green special issue (contains first issues of The Other Side, Displaced Aggression and Infestation as well as some other short stories) and it was enough to make me shell out for the full omnibus, the RGB omnibus and the first three volumes of the current series.

Initially I was put off buying monthly issues; you pay £3 for about 20 pages worth of comic interspersed with advertising and you’ve read the whole thing in about 15 mins (graphic novels and omnibuses give you a lot more bang for your buck IMO), but the OCD side of me took over and I was drawn by the cover artwork and the monthlies are a lot lighter in the hand than the books.

So far, the current series is the pick of the bunch for me. Great stories, great reference to the films, cartoons and even other films like Airplane! and The Blues Brothers. Really feels like everything I could want in a follow up to the Ghostbusters stories of old.
