Original NES Ghostbusters game

CONGLATURATION!

Was the GB2 NES game the one where, on the first level, you ran from right to left shooting slime at an arc that was so annoying to control?

If it is then I hate that game. I could never get the hang of shooting that stupid slime and even my fandom couldn’t drive me to play the game that much. Also, very strange going right to left.

Yes that was the GB2 NES game.

But “The New Ghostbusters 2” game was much, much more phenominal. Look it up.

I don’t know how accurate it is, but the New Ghostbusters 2 game is in the Android Marketplace. I have it on my phone and it works just fine.

I do know the NES version is better then the Game Boy version, as the NES version had a badass 8-bit version of Flip City in it.

Hey speaking of the stairs i just watched the RGB episode when halloween was forever and in one shot peter, winston and ray are climbing a stairwell to get to samhain busting ghosts on the way!!

Ps i had the Sega master system version as a kid and only completed it about a yr ago :stuck_out_tongue:

Also i have the NES GB2 game but dont have a NES console :walterpeck:

I WANNA PLAY THIS!!!

I have it on the NES, since it is one of my 300ish cartridges, I often purposely don’t include it in the collection since I find it better to use the shelf space for something far better and more useful… Like… Megaman…Zelda…Punch-Out!!!..or even the useless speedboard.

If I ever managed to get a sealed copy of the game, I’d probably have to kill myself.

The Angry Video Game Nerd follow up

Warning: heavy cursing

The new ghostbusters 2 for nes game is awesome, but why is winston green?

You mean like this?

I’d like to see a port of the old NES game to iOS. Hopefully with the terrible staircase level reworked. I actually really liked that the game was a business and you needed to earn money busting ghosts. I probably was the only person who actually liked the game (except for the staircase level which I believe is universally thought of as terrible).

I liked the Sega Master System version where you could pick your car, and you didn’t need to buy the proton pack. Anyway, just my two cents.

This was a REALLY hard game. It cause several sore thumbs back in the Dad. The good thing about it being so hard was that it was one of the few games my Dad really got into.

I thought it was hard too. But the first part of the game is quite enjoyable to me now. Its fun to earn money busting ghosts and use the money to expand the business. The stairway level is way too hard. It’s 23 floors and it’s almost impossible to make it up without the anti ghost suit, ghost bait and sound generator. And the ending to the game is horrible. But I really liked playing it.

C64 is the definitive version of the game. It’s the only one that successfully recreates the atmosphere of the film. The next best thing is the Atari 2600 version; the game mechanics are scaled down to the bare minimum but the essential gameplay is there.

One of my favorite 8-bit songs by far.
