im currently building my second pact and was just wondering what type of paint should i use ,cause i tried spray paint on my first pack and it felt very rough and i would like a smooth feel to the paint on this attempt.

What kind of paint did you use. I’ve used paints that were textured before and it did indeed end up rough. the second time around I sanded like a madman, primered used a high grit sand paper, sanded again, and used a semi gloss black…worked out fine and smooth in the end (all paints i used were spray)
Your rough surface may also have been caused by sanding dust trapped under your paint layer. When you’re ready to paint, be sure and wipe the surfaces clean before you start. I use a tac-rag (cheese cloth soaked in mineral spirits), available at any good home improvement store. This will collect ALL the dust and sanding debris from your surfaces before you spray !
Paint-wise, I used Krylon Ultra-Flat Black (2 coats) and overcoated with Clear Matte(2 coats). I am happy with the results I got.
A rough texture can also be the result of spraying from too far away so that the paint is already a bit dry when hitting the surface.
With semi-gloss black this will give a nice effect like this if not overdone. :
I would suggest anyone to experiment with different distances before spray painting the pack itself.
What bigi71 said.I’ve had to sand my pack down before because I sprayed it from too far away.
Now the finish I have is like bigi’s pack.
