What kind of paint do you guys use on your packs? I don’t want the pack to be shiny but at the same time I’m trying to get the wood to look like it’s metal, so would semi-gloss be good? I used Krylon Flat Black (96 cents a can at Wal-Mart) last year and it worked out really well, but it’s a little too dull. Is there a certain brand that works better than others? Also, how many coats produce the best results? I was planning on at least 3 after the primer coat. Should I go with more or less?

Me I use Krylon flat black and krylon satin finish for the clear coat. I want a mat finish for the clear coat but I can’t find it so a satin finish do the job for the moment. I put 3 or 4 coat of flat black and 5-6 for the clear coat (it’s not too shiny). you can chek the canadian proton pack it’s mine
Add: don’t forget to prime your pack before with 2 or 3 coat of krylon primer (grey)
What I used on my pack was that krylon fusion, and it was satin black. It looks really shiny when applied, but dulls down to a light sheen and looks really good I think. there’s about two coats on my pack, and one on my gun, that’s what I did, so hope that I helped, I know I was happy with it.
