What if Ray had said ‘Yes’?
This scene is probably the most salient memory from my initial viewing of Ghostbusters when I was seven (‘Are you a god?’ – ‘No’ – Thunder). Would a reply in the affirmative have made much difference to the eventual outcome?

Gozer would’ve probably tried to validate the claim. Which I bet would’ve been a worse outcome. Gozer probably just did a light-force lightning bolt thinking of them as peasants. But if Ray said he was a god then Gozer might’ve put some serious power behind a similar attack and test out Ray’s godly strength.
That’s 1 hypothesis at least. I won’t mention any others, I’d like to see what other members think could/would have happened.
