At the urging of julz, I’m doing the opposite of my gut instincts (my guts are shit anyway, really) and asking for help. That’s right, I’ve written a 300+ page novel and I need your support! I’ve already snagged a well known editor in New York. He’s very keen, and we’re working together as we speak (his name’s Pat LoBrutto–he’s worked on the Dune books, The NeverEnding Story, etc.)
I’ve got a PledgeMe project (NZ’s version of Kickstarter) going with less than a week left to raise the money I need to pay for the artist, editors, and general fees associated with printings, and getting my stuff out to various publishing houses.
The reason I post this here is because, well, I know there’s some lovers of sci-fi amongst us… and the book was partly inspired by Ghostbusters, even though there’s not even a remote comparison between the two. Now before you think of this as some cash grab on my part, I’m not taking your money* persay*… you can get stuff in return for your hard earned cash! And for all you American-based busters, it’s a bonus because the donations are in NZ dollars, so whatever you choose to donate means you pay less after the exchange rate!
