Hi all. This weekend I manage to kill my sound chip, the same as the GBfans one that is no longer available. Ie a 28 pin wt588d type.
A long shot, but does anyone have the code for that chip so I can put a new chip in plug and play style?
Any other ideas welcome but I’d like to keep my electronics setup if I can.
I imagine this would be a direct drop in and you can program it over USB.

There is also this older tutorial if you are just doing 1 button per sound.
I think this is more the type I have. one button/switch per sound.
I reached out to Rob at Replica Props and he cant help as he no longer has the code for the sound chips. He hasnt sold them in years.
GBfans shop have been really helpfu and offered me the sound files and some degree of coding but I havent had the chance to explore it. What I am worried about is by doing a fresh program o f a new sound board might not intergrate with the Arduino as it does currently, ie light sequence changes as you hold the intesify button on etc.
a small part of me had hoped I would be able to find a copy of the original sound chip coding that would simply work in my pack. As said in my original post…it was a long shot.
Do you still have a copy of the programming software? I cant find voicechip V1.6 anywhere and there doesnt seem to be an alternative.
I would definitely scan it for viruses before installing, this is just the first result on Google.
