The GBfans Facebook page is pretty active. With more than 40,000 “fans,” each and every post receives rarely fewer than 30 comments and usually thousands of likes.
It’s a good place to get news, catch links to cool projects, and see interesting fan images uploaded constantly.
However, there is a dark side. A significant number of people that like the page may not be the best at contributing to discussions, spelling, or even know that they liked a page for ghostbusters fans. It is a veritable gold mine of buffoonery at times, from the people that think GBfans IS Ghostbusters so they demand a third movie, to the people who violently rage out over Bill Murray’s attitude toward a sequel, to the people that think posting screencaps from the first third of the movie is racist, even though Winston hasn’t come into the story yet.
As we should all know by now, arguing with someone over the internet is nothing but a waste of time, as correcting or debating a stupid person doesn’t work, or simply because many of the dumbass comments are hit-and-runs, where the user will never even bother to look back at the conversation after they have left their “mark.”
I frequently relate my frustrations with the userbase on my own Facebook page to AJ, after which he shows me what he has to deal with on a daily basis, crushing any right I may have to complain. For too long, AJ has had to suffer these fools alone. This thread is a good place to dump screencaps of your favorite comments from the Facebook page, so we can all sit back and chuckle at how ludicrous the internet makes people.
RULES: this thread exists because people post crazy stuff online, a fact that will never change. Instead of getting into a flame war with them, just come and post the picture here so we can all roll our eyes together. With that in mind, please remove the name of the commenter, as we don’t want people using this thread to just go find people to attack.
