Question About Ghostbusters II

Is it possible that the judge that gave the scolery brothers the chair, could restrain the order against the GBs, just like that’??? Just by saying it?

Always sounded odd to me.

I wish to remind everyone of the one little lifeline in GB2 if you like RGB and/or the 88MPH comics and are tired of being told they “can’t” have happened.

When they’re in the court room putting the proton packs on, Venkman grumbled about “hating this part of the job” and then says this:

That’s a couple of years, which usually means about two, not five years.

It’s not much, but I take what I can get

I’m sure he could. Especially in the state of panic he was in. I actually was curious now that you mention it and did some reading on it. When he says “Alright, alright, I rescind the order”

The guy was ready to make them pay $25,000 each and have them spend 18 months at Riker’s Island, not to mention all the other horrific stuff if he had his way.

Although Judge Wexler would have preferred to revert back to a sterner justice.. and have them burned at the stake.

He only rescinded the prior restraining order, which I’m curious if it was State or Federal, and dismissed the case presently in Court - wherein he would have sentenced them to Rikers.

Yes judicial orders can be lifted just like that, depending on if they are State or Federal and if the Judge is State or Federal, or what level of the judiciary they are in.

yeah yeah I meant the order of them performance their services, probably implied that he drops all the charges against them.

I still love everytime

“SHUT UP!”

“STAND UP, GET UP!”

And then all calm… “You too, Mr. Tullyyyy…”

hahah, he was great in clear and present danger.

He drops all the present charges when he says “Case dismissed” :stuck_out_tongue:

Egon: YES!

Louis: Hooraaaay we won the case!

Judge: now do something!

the shot after that still gives me chills to this day, cut to the evidence table.

Me too. I love that scene. It’s almost like a “return” type of thing.. which I guess in a sense it actually is, ha! But definitely. The courtroom scene was no doubt trying to pay homage to the ballroom scene in GB1, though.

When you think about it, there are a lot of similarities between the two films.. whether it be a nod to the first or what have you.
