I know that alot of the features are still a mystery, but I was wondering something about multi-player that maybe someone here can answer for me. I’ll be getting the game for my PS3 and was curious if the multi-player is an online-only kinda thing or can someone sitting right next to me with a 2nd controller play as well? Thanks.
I think it just supports online play. The Wii supports splitscreen. Not a definate but I am sure I read that somewhere.
I remember reading somewhere that online wasn’t going to be supported as they wanted all of the players in the same room, but that was probably just the Wii version. Especially considering that the PC version is to be the 360/Ps3 version and I just can’t see that without online support lol. Suppose we’ll find out when it’s released. I wish the next gen versions would support both, but Sony and Microsoft sure like to make you use their services for multiplayer withsome games.
there is definatley online support for ps3 / 360 version
you will be playing on XBOX live and psn with other people.
the only local multiplayer that will be going on as far as I know is the WII
but I could be wrong. Also on the OXM report they talk about competing for points online.
Yeah I belive there will be online play.
The PS3 and XB360 versions will only support online multi-player, because the game is geared more towards a single player(the rookie) experience, only the Wii and PS2 will have split-screen, as for the DS version, you do get to play as not only the rookie(male or female), but also all 4 of the original GBs…and you get to drive the Ecto-1. ![]()
to not include local multiplayer is stupid…and if the Wii version doesn’t include online thats just as stupid.
Come on…do the whole fucking package
Split screen multiplayer was always annoying. What inescapable need would there be for having all the players in the same room? You can allow people to use headsets during gameplay, and then you have the same kibitzing and taunting from your fellow players that you’d get if they were in the room with you!
I know, I think the only reason the Wii version is going to be standard multi-player is to get kids to actually interact with one another, and not just through a computer monitor. Maybe the game companies think that, as older gamers, we all just sit alone, in front of our computers/consoles and play all day lol. Plus, IMHO, the Wii version isn’t going to sell half as much as the rest(regardless of the multi-player factor), because of the fact that it is too cartoony for most of us…unless we happen to have kids.
Well Im one of the few who doesnt have his PS3 hooked up to the interwebs yet. Plus my girlfriend would like to play as well, so having local multiplayer would be good for someone like me. Online play is always fun, but it would be nice if more games also offered local multiplayer. Just you and a friend in the same room, playing and interacting together without the need for things like headsets. But I guess online is the rage now and two people in the same room playing together is becoming a thing of the past.
That and the fact that theres no PSP version kinda bums me out, but im just happy we’re even getting a Ghostbusters game.
