Question reffering fibreglassing tutorial

Hi there!

I am an austrian GB Fan and I plan to build my own proton pack as soon as I have enough time to do so.

There is a really good tutorial on how to fiberglass the pack (mold making and so on).

I’ve heard that fiberglass tends to warp in the sun. Is that true?

I also have a question on the alice pack:

Last week I was on a militaria flee market here in austria and a guy there sold many alice packs but the are not lined straight (don’t know how to describe it) at the bottom.

Are the “straight” ones still avaiable? Is there a difference in size between alice packs or is ther only ONE?

Also, the seemed to bee quite small…I NEVER saw a 1:1 GB Proton Pack in person so I don’t really know the dimensions but as I looked at these bunch of alice packs on the flee market…I said “wow the packs must me pretty small” to myself. Well perhaps only my imagination.

Cool people here, cool board.

Thanks!

Well, this is the tutorial I already know and which I’ve mentioned above.

Thanks

I don’t know that there are any different sizes…besides, the pack is actually a bit taller than the ALICE pack frame.

These are the dimensions of the frame (according to Stefan’s plans):

These are the dimensions of the motherboard (from the same plans):

Just out of curiosity, but anyone know what ALICE stands for?[/url]

Thanks providing this informations!

I was unsure if there are different sizes of the alice frames and the ones I saw on that flee market were ALL colored in a military green tone, no black ones at all and they SEEM to be kind of small.

I also think that the ones I saw do NOT have these attachments and wholes in the areas that I marked with a red circle.

Perhaps the ones I saw were not ALICE frames but…something uselesse different stuff so…I sure have to order a frame online (hard to find ANYTHING here in austria).

Thanks!

Yeah you aren’t going to find them in Europe!

They are American Military Issue.
