"A Futile & Stupid Gesture:" National Lampoon biopic

Netflix is gonna make a biopic about National Lampoon. They’ve chosen actors to play John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Harold Ramis and Bill Murray in it. Your thoughts?: National Lampoon Biopic Cast: Who's Playing Bill Murray, John Belushi And Harold Ramis?

I’m more interested in seeing what their mindset was behind making these God-Awful, horrible “movies” they’ve been making as of late. A biopic seems… unnecessary…

Save your gripes about other movies for the appropriate threads, will ya? In fact, feel free to make your own thread. THIS thread is about THIS movie. Besides, I’m more interested in whether the actors suit the roles of (most of our) favourite comedians.

Improv comedians playing improv comedians. Seems like a natural fit. Plus I’m a big fan of David Wain movies. I’m in.

Oh, so you’re only interested in people who agree with you. My mistake.

yawn

I don’t see Jon Daly as Bill Murray. And I don’t see myself as someone “interested in those who agree with me,” so if you thought that was my intention, then MY mistake. I’m interested in commenting on a biopic that actually has GB actors as characters in them.

Rick Glassman with a 'fro could pass off as Harold Ramis from a distance.

I simply commented that a biopic was unnecessary. If all you want is to run off people who actually comment on your thread then you’re doing great. Last response on this thread, I’m already sick of it.

Quick question: what makes a biopic necessary?

K. I wasn’t exactly stopping you from believing that biopics were unnecessary though.

I dunno really, I’m just interested in seeing Harold Ramis portrayed by an actor.

I’m still waiting to hear what makes a movie “unnecessary”.
