I’m not sure if anyone has said something about this before, but I used the search before posting this.
Obviously, being a huge Ghostbusters fan as a kid, I always like seeing old commercials and such. It reminds me of those good times from my childhood.
But I feel cheated. This is such a fail.
At around 0:26, when the Ghostbuster comes out of the room and makes his pose, you can see he’s wearing the proton pack UPSIDE DOWN :sigh: :sigh: :sigh: :sigh:
The Ion Arm is on the bottom by his ass and the cyclotron is at the top of his back. It looks like a real pack, so it makes one wonder, who was at the head of this commercial’s production? Like, wtf man?!
Just a random observation. I kinda got a little ■■■■■■…
The shot is so quick I never noticed that as a kid. Even if you had never seen the movie before, the pack has warning labels which kind of indicate which way is up… also you wouldn’t be able to holster the gun on the V-hook. I’m trying to come up with an excuse for their ignorance but really there isn’t one.
I also wonder which “real” firehouse they are talking about, since the movie firehouse is an amalgamation.
I don’t think Anybody won this. I remember the Ecto-1 sweepstakes as a kid. And am always reminded from my mom on how she submitted over 300 something forms for it haha.
I was YouTubing Ghostbusters stuff like crazy and saw this recently and thought that it looked wrong, but I didn’t realize just HOW wrong it was! Good catch! I feel like whomever won this contest didn’t see Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, or Ernie Hudson, but some Universal Studios actor. There are certain things that just FEEL wrong (whether it be this commercial, Planet Hollywood, or a Mall Appearance) and you just kinda gotta wonder what is going thru these people’s heads…
When I heard the recordings all I could think of was Ralphie drinking all that ovaltine in “a christmas story” to get the decoder pin and find out the secret code was a commercial.
