hello all,
although ive been a member on this site for almost a year, i havent taken the time to actually introduce myself until now, being that work kicks my ass most of the time.
my name is louie, i was raised in NYC all my life. ive lived in 3 of the 5 boroughs (brooklyn, queens, staten island, and back to queens again). ive been a fan of ghostbusters for as long as i can remember. i knew from the first time i saw it i was hooked. grew up watching the cartoons, had my collection of RGB toys as a kid, to my dad taking me to see GB2 in theaters.
fast forward a number of years and here i am, an adult who just cant get enough of ghostbusters. i stumbled upon this site last summer when i was trying to figure out who i wanted to dress up as and it was this site that helped me gear up for halloween and ny comic con, even though i didnt have every thing i wanted to look like a ghostbuster. i did the best i could with what i had and now a year later i got 75% of what i need to look like a true ghostbuster. this site has helped me tremendously in putting together a top notch ghostbuster cosplay, purchasing materials from the gbfans shop to the best prop makers and more. i learned alot from the site and the most imortant thing i learned is, unless you have the money, theres no way to get everything you need at once to cosplay as a ghostbuster. this stuff takes alot of time as much as alot money. as far as im concerned, im done picking different costumes for halloween. i invested so much money in this thing that theres no way i want to dress as anyone else. i was a ghosthead as a kid, i still am now and thats who i’ll be every year.
i knew there were fans like myself out there but this site has introduced me to a whole new level of fandom. i didnt realize just how big the ghostbusters fan community really is and what i love about this site is every one helps each other out and pitching in new ideas. great to know that this site exists, very informative.
