Hi guys im converting some isreali goggle frames to look more GB1 screen accurate, Ive filled in all the holes where the brass buttons were and filled in the foriegn writting and also the extra hole where the switch was, so the shell now looks right, but I need to add 6 poppers. Well really I only need the back of the popper as the inside will have GB1 foam on and not the thick padding the goggles come with.
So does anyone know where I can get correct poppers for GB1

Hey Marcel,
When I made my conversions last year I used binding posts from the hardware store. You could try to find DOT stamped rivets/poppers, but that may be hard. Here is how mine turned out.

As you can see using binding posts was a little thicker and lacked the DOT stamp, but was in my opinion a good alternative for an Israeli-to-US conversion.
If you happened to save the halves of the original snaps from the face cushion you can just glue the front half back on to the frames. That’s what I did with mine. I then filled backside with Aves Apoxy sculpt and sanded smooth.
If you do still want to add new snaps you can buy them in bags of 100 directly from D.O.T. but be very careful attaching them, there’s a good chance you’ll crack the goggle frames if you don’t take your time.
I did think about adding rivits, they do look good and will use this if I cant find the correct back, Im not gunna add the popper as I dont need the front and they will just push the foam out and stop it from sticking.
But would like to just glue the correct back on where they show. dont suppose anyone has 6 backs I could buy. 100 is abit of an over kill, Il have to see if we have them in the UK.
Can you tell me if the correct DOT posts on the US frame are see through or are they the domed type that you cant see through once connected to the popper?

Yes, you need the post but you’d have to gently dremel the stem off of it.
Dont suppose you can find anouther link to them as they have a minimum $50 order which will be about 1000 and then ive got to pay a hefty shipping to the UK because of the weight.
Goggle doesnt seem to bring anything up this end DOH!

Little late reading this post. I ordererd all my supples directly from Dot fasteners.
They have everything you will need but it can be a pain to navigate through allt he products. I will make an attempt to dig out my notes with the item #'s you will be seeking in the government black finish.
EDIT* It looks like Vince’s link is basically the same as my own. Can’t say I am sure you will find too many sources for these outside of DOT’s site.
Look up “dot snappers” on e-bay they’re all over the place.
Where did you manage to get your hands on the frame? I haven’t had much luck finding them.
check ebay. I just picked up a real PVS-5A frame yesterday. the same seller mentioned that he has a few more he’s going to put up so i’d keep an eye out.
