Hi guys, Im new here so hopefully this is a proper question to ask. With the Real Ghostbusters DVD set out and in many of our hands now, is there anyone here (or any websites out there) that plan to rip the audio from the episodes that feature the music-only option? Some of the background music from the show is just as memorable as the show itself. Thanks.
There’s a good chance there are at least a couple people who will give it a shot :whatever: I haven’t gotten the set but listening through to some of the episodes that have the music/effects tracks, there will be some uninterrupted audio gems in there. Even with some sound effects.
Yeah, Im actually trying to learn how to rip audio from DVD’s so I can do it. If I did, would anyone here be interested in me posting the mp3’s here?

I really want to dive into doing it but am kinda lazy at the moment and having fun just enjoying the set. Plus I wanna figure out the best way to take out the hiss and really edit them and maybe paste together longer versions too. 
These are fun though! Someone else should give it a go too. It would be awesome at some point to have an “unofficial definitive RGB score soundtrack of sorts” At this point it’s just kinda playin around with it.

That’s one of the main ones I’m glad we were able to get. There’s a great bit in Last Train to Oblivion, likely some of it can be pasted together and lose some of the dragon sounds. Anything beats the midi guitar

I’d like to do it myself but I really dont know how. If I did, I’d also rip the cover of “Police & Thieves” from the RENO 911: Miami dvd, lol. So I guess my lazy self will have to wait until someone else is kind enough to do it. I totally understand you having too much fun simply enjoying the set, Zack, it is the definition of awesomness.

Well just like how we’re loading heaps of thanks to the guys who put the set together from Time Life, you’ll definately get the same treatment here if you could put together some awesome ripped mp3s
I heard the promo episode (the very first episode) was basically a music video with the full RGB theme. Why not rip that?
Yeah, but won’t we hear sound effects over it, though?
Yeah on the promo theme, you’ll hear a lot of crazy sounds which won’t make sense until you see the promo! There are ways to try and reduce the sound effects and hiss that some of the music/effects tracks contain. You can probably use the RGB theme heard throughout some episodes from the music effects track to reduce significant amounts of dialogue too as well as sound but I think there’s always gonna be sound interruptions as I’m finding out with a lot of these songs.
I’m wondering if the best thing to do is sit through all the episodes and mark and write down where clear bits of each song are and then slowly but surely paste the songs together to as full a length as possible as we know them. Like usually most of the songs are relatively short but maybe find a good spot to loop them to where maybe it makes it a little longer.
It’s kinda like video game soundtracks, you probably aren’t gonna wanna listen to the same short loop for more than a couple minutes. But yeah it will/would be totally awesome to get this together. This could be a great fan project as I know a “soundtrack” from the score of the cartoon is very high on the list of fan wants at this point. Since we just got the complete series!!!
The GB2 fan score is crazy awesome and I think the RGB soundtrack could have potential to have significantly less noise/dialogue.
I don’t really think people will mind the sounds, as they waited YEARS to hear the full RGB theme. Speaking of the promo, now that you’ve seen it, what do you think of it?
I honestly listened to it several times in a row when I first heard it. The sounds aren’t that bad on it really.
The promo was awesome! It was really cool to see the show in it’s rawest form. From it’s conception then seeing what it would become. The interviews are great for it as well and they realy explain and justify why for example there was no real merchandise for the first movie or why the characters looked different/different colors.
The promo commentary is great as well.

I second the notion to post the audio from the Promo! I’m getting mine this week but I’m so excited I can’t wait - also, for those who cannot afford the full set and will miss out it will be nice for them too. Yeah, somebody’s gotta be able to post the audio to it!

Ahh c’mon - that’s not fair for people who can’t afford it. Im not really for posting the video right away but at least the audio. I’m not too stuck up to post the audio for folks - and as soon as I get my copy of the set this week I’m posting the audio to the promo for everybody. Either here or on a remote site. And it will be a permanent link too - not a sendspace or mediafire type of link. It’s christmas and I like to share.
