Real Ghostbusters Winston with two elbow pads?

I’ve read in a couple of places that there are Winstons from the first series of figures with two elbow pads, but they’re very rare. Do these actually exist? Does anyone have any pictures of one? Thanks.

I would like to know the answer to this as well! Consider this post followed

I’d also like to add that the question is about the 1st series Winston. The Slimed Heroes Winston has 2 elbow pads… Not rare at all

I’ll have to go through my things again, but I know I have a Slimed Heroes Winston that has two elbow pads. I’ve seen a few of them at conventions and Flea Markets every so often. The left elbow pad isn’t painted the same color as the other pad, it is molded in the same color as his jumpsuit. I’ve never seen a First Series Winston with two though.

There’s been a rumor of a 1st series Winston with 2 elbow pads. People have claimed they owned one but then failed to produce pictures. As far as i know, every Slimed Heroes Winston has 2 elbow pads.

I think the rumor is false. The Slimed Heroes set, for whatever reason Kenner had, uses brand new molds. This is shown on the copyright date stamped on the back of that line. Interestingly, the Power Pack series and the Ecto-Glow series reverted back to the original molds, and there are no double elbow pad W’s in those lines either.

I think people incorrectly assumed that Kenner used the 2-pad mold for W’s Slimed Heroes figure instead of the 1-pad mold. In reality, Kenner created a brand new mold for this line.

This is one of those few times where I would like to be proven wrong…

From ebay pictures… (Classic Heroes Winston on the left and Slimed Heroes Winston on the right)

I have never seen a Classic Heroes Winston on ebay with two elbow pads. I agree with boozer4 that most likely this was only done with Slimed Heroes Winston.

Same thing happens all the time with Jail Jaw ghost that had two different glow in the dark releases. One with paint (Ecto-Glow Egon) and one without paint (Ghost Trap). Winston in the Slimed Heroes line was very close in color to Classic Heroes Winston.

Yeah, they look like new molds that were made using the same two-up test shot. That’s why they’re almost identical, but with deeper detail in some areas. The second elbow pad was probably added to the prototype at some point.
