As many of you notice there is a large volume of spam posted on the board every day. These posts are created via a computer program. There is NO way to effeciently stop them from happening.
I would appreciate it if you all would STOP posting in threads with spam. You are just drawing more attention to them, and basically allowing them to suceed in their plan… to pester and annoy (more than to advertise).
While we only have a few moderators no one is on the site moderating 24 hours a day. I would appreciate it if the negative comments made about me, and the others who work on this site would stop. The Ghostbusters Prop Archive is a FREE service that too many take for granted. It doesn’t make any of the moderators want to stop in to clear out the daily spam when everyone is so negative about the stuff they see.
Nope, not at all. I was being sincere. No one seems to see the hard work and dedication that you have contributed over the years in order for them to be able to build their own replica proton packs. Between the site, the pictures, discoveries, etc. Then they have to the nerve to bitch about you not coming on here and deleteing a couple of spam posts in what they consider to be ample time.
Well you and I have never gotten along the best AJ, but I never had any negative comment. It’s actually fun to make fun of spam :lol: It’s like two potheads dancing in an alley. Hmm, or perhaps it’s like getting slapped with a turkey on your birthday.
My philosophy; Live, Learn, Never forget, but forgive. So, hear hear to what Radar said. It’s a lot of work doing even a website for just viewing, I can’t, nor would many others, see how much work goes into this site. Keep it up.
Ya, I did comment in the last thread with the “looking for boyfriend” spam (I thought that one was the funniest one yet, even though I HATE SPAM), but I know I’ve never made negative comment about AJ or any other person on here because of it. Running a site is hard, and is often taken for granted by everyone. Your doing a great job AJ, and I enjoy coming to this board. Keep up the good work, and I’ll try from now on to resist the urge to reply to future “boyfriend wanted ad/SPAM inquirys”.
I never made a negative comment about AJ or any other moderator because of SPAM, I simply mentioned it as an idea not knowing there was already something that couldN’T be done. Ignorance is a good reason at times but never an excuse. If I offended you AJ, or anybody else, i’m sorry, it was very much unintentional.
My personal opinions and experiences of/with people are of no concern whatsoever here and now, so to that I do not remark.
And lastly, my job hasn’t paid me in almost 2 months, the subject of which aggrivates me beyond all, but as soon as I get paid, pay my overdue bills and have a few pennies (figure of speech AJ) left over, i’m definately going to donate. I’ve already mentioned my support to this site, it’s universally kickass that it’s free, and I, among many, many, many others VERY much appreciate that fact.
I know I’ve been signing on about 3-4 times a day just to check for it, and its there all the time. Its a good idea just not to click on it if you suspect its spam. We obviously can all tell no legitimate person is gonna post Kevin Federline naked… although the James Brown hottub party was a surprise.
